Brittany Pate began her dance training in her hometown of Boulder, CO at the age of six, eventually joining the Boulder Ballet Company as an apprentice in 2008. She has had the honor of studying with Kansas City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet, LINES Ballet, and The San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2013 with a B.A. in Dance and received the Faculty Award for Sustained Achievement in Performance, Choreography, and Technique upon graduation. There, she studied under distinguished faculty including Carol Roderick, Chung-Fu Chang, Judy Bejarano and others. Brittany has worked with many companies and choreographers across the Twin Cities including Zoé Emilie Henrot, Mathew Janczewski, Marciano Silva Dos Santos, Regina Peluso, St. Paul Ballet, The Guthrie Theater and Ballare Teatro Perforing Arts Center. Her favorite roles include Ina from Bella Luna and featured roles in in Zoé Emilie Henrot’s ballets Gray Matter and Locked Key. Brittany is committed to mentorship of young artists as individuals and has created programs that promote healthy body image, as well as mental and physical health including the “Take Back the Tutu” lecture series and campaign and now in collaboration with Ballet Co.Laboratory, “Beyond the Mirror”. In addition to teaching and dancing professionally Brittany works part time at the Grand Jeté dance store as a pointe shoe fitter and social media coordinator. She is thrilled to be joining Ballet Co.Laboratory for its inaugural season as a company artist and Communications manager.
