Elaina Sutula, of Brookfield, Connecticut, began dancing at a small studio in her hometown before continuing her training at Mercyhurst University on scholarship, where she graduated magna cum laude in May 2016 with a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Pre-Nutrition Studies. Under direction of dance chair Tauna Hunter, she performed ballets such as Flower Festival in Genzano Pas de Deux, Pas de Quatre, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the title role in Little Match Girl. She has received additional training during summer programs at The Nutmeg Conservatory, Ballet Austin, and Tulsa Ballet, and was also invited to appear in New York City at the final competition of Youth America Grand Prix. Elaina danced professionally with St Paul Ballet for two seasons. Featured roles include Sugar Plum Fairy in Clara’s Dream from The Nutcracker and Ina in Peter Davison’s Bella Luna. She is currently entering her second season with Ballet Co.Laboratory as a company artist and the Development Manager. Recently, she originated the role of Clara in Zoé Henrot’s new holiday production Nutcracker in Wonderland as well as The Rose in Remembering the Little Prince.
