Jessika is an interdisciplinary artist based, and currently freelancing in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was born in Memphis, TN and moved to Minnesota at a young age. Expanding her artistic experience beyond the walls of home, she began formal dance training in 2010 at Lundstrum Center for the Performing Artist where she was introduced to jazz, ballet, and musical theatre. She began professionally dancing in 2014. In the summer of 2014, she was given a chance scholarship to train with ARENA DANCES. Continuing her gratitude, love, and need for the arts, she graduated from Perpich Center for Arts Education in 2015 where she studied dance under the instruction of Mary Harding. While at Perpich, she trained at TU Dance Center. At TU Dance she trained in Horton technique, West African dance, ballet, Gaga, and repertoire. She was given a scholarship in 2016 to study at Garth Fagan School of Dance in Rochester, New York. In 2018, she co-produced her first dance production at The Lab Theatre with 8 other artist titled "Listen.", which resulted in two over sold out shows. Her personal style of dance encompasses a bit of everything she's studied, but it is predominantly based in modern dance, hip hop, and improvisation. She has performed at The Guthrie, Intermedia Arts, The Ordway, Northrop, First Avenue, General Mills, Orchestra Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Lincoln Center, and The XCel Energy Center. In who she is and through her artistry, she works to bring about healing, change/growth , inspiration, and conversation to humanity.

Jessika will be teaching Choreographer and Improvisation in the July Advanced Laboratory.
