Sage Engle-Laird (she/her) began dance classes at a young age in her hometown, Tulsa, OK. In 2010 she joined the Tulsa Ballet Center for Dance Education, and two years later she moved to New York City to train with Sara Knight at the SLK Ballet School. Sage attended summer programs at Ballet Austin, Oklahoma City Ballet, English National Ballet, Houston Ballet, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in NYC. Following graduation, she had the pleasure of dancing professionally with Ballet Austin, Ballet Tucson, Alabama Ballet, and Ballet Virginia.

Sage has performed in an array of classical and contemporary ballets including The Sleeping BeautyLa SylphideSwan LakeLa Fille Mal Gardée, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Walpurgisnacht, and works by Jennifer Hart, Stephen Mills, Septime Webre, and Lydia Roberts-Coco. While at Ballet Co.Laboratory, Sage has also had the opportunity to originate many roles including the title role of Flavia Garcia’s Firebird , Gerda in Zoé Henrot’s The Snow Queen, and Hermia in Christian Warner’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Sage joined Ballet Co.Laboratory in 2020 as a Company Artist and the Outreach Manager. Along with dancing and teaching ballet, Sage is also currently completing a Kinesiology BS at the University of Minnesota.
