Derek Fox

Apprentice Artist

Derek Fox (they/them) began their training at José Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA, participating in their YDP program and youth works led by Angie DeWolf. After graduating from JMBT in 2022, Derek moved to Princeton, NJ to train at American Repertory Ballet as a trainee, led by Aydmara Cabrera, Ethan Steifel, and Samantha Dunster and training under teachers such as Rebecca Maso, Ana Novoa, and Kathleen Moore. In their time at ARB Derek has gotten opportunities to perform in productions such as Ethan Stiefel’s Spirit of the Highlands, Luis Napoles’s Liminal, Paquita, and Mexican Music choreographed by David Fernandez.

Derek has enjoyed getting to dance in productions such as Freddie: Break Free, The Snow Queen, and the Wondrous World of Oz. Derek is very excited to continue their journey with Ballet Co.Laboratory!
