Expanding Artistry through performance
Ballet Co.Laboratory's Junior Performance Ensemble is for dancers who are looking for more performance experiences in addition to those offered within the Performing Arts Division. The Junior Performance Ensemble performs out in the community as well as in all Seasn Showcases. Ensemble dancers serve ambassadors of BCL and dance, making the art form more accessible.
The weekly schedule of the Junior Performance Ensemble will include ballet technique, pointe, and repertoire. There will be an optional modern class on Thursdays, which Ensemble dancers may take free of charge. In addition, Ensemble dancers will have access to a complimentary, unlimited Drop-In class card during each session of the Ensemble for which dancer is registered. This will allow for maximum schedule and financial flexibility in Ensemble dancer being able to take as many ballet technique classes as they would like each week. The Junior Performance Ensemble will be offered in three separate sessions.
Eligibility: Dancers who are part of the Junior Performance Ensemble must have at least 4 years of pointe experience and/or are between the ages of 18-30. Dancers are selected for the Junior Performance Ensemble by Ensemble Director, Genevieve Waterbury. Dancers in the Junior Performance Ensemble must commit to all classes and rehearsals within each session of the Ensemble they are registered.

5:00-6:30pm Junior Performance Ensemble repertoire
Thursdays
3:00-4:30pm Junior Performance Ensemble technique
4:30-5:00pm Junior Performance Ensemble pointe
5:00-6:30pm Junior Performance Ensemble repertoire
6:45-8:00pm *OPTIONAL* Modern class

Choreography Mentorship Program with the Junior Performance Ensemble
This program, open to Ballet Co.Laboratory Trainees and Company artists, was developed to give aspiring choreographers the opportunity to create and set work on the Junior Performance Ensemble under the guidance of Ensemble Director, Genevieve Waterbury. Artists interested in this program must complete an application. If selected, the artist will set the new work during the Fall Session of Junior Performance Ensemble. The work will be performed in the Choreographer Showcase in November.
