Advanced level students ages 15 - 22 have the opportunity to study alongside the Company as Trainees of Ballet Co.Laboratory. Trainees are advanced students who also study four times a week during the day with the Company in class and rehearsal. Trainees are fully enrolled in the Performing Arts Division at Ballet Co.Laboratory. Trainees participate in all season productions and outreach performances.
Auditions for Ballet Co.Laboratory’s Trainee Program occur annually. Dancers may select to audition in-person or via video audition. Please see more details below.

If you are unable to attend the in-person audition, we are accepting video auditions. Videos should be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo.
Videos must be no longer than 5 minutes.
There is no audition fee.Video auditions must include
- Short ballet center combination
- Short center pointe combination
- Performance footage (if possible) -

The Trainee season will begins in July with the July/August School of Ballet Co.Laboratory Intensive and runs through the following June, ending with the professional season.

The Trainee II Program includes an Artist Driven Internship as a work exchange tuition program.
On Tuesday’s and Thursdays Trainee II dancers may be called to Company class and rehearsal from 10:00am - 2:30pm, this will be determined on a weekly basis as needed for rehearsals
